GG Addict

I'm so mad Gossip Girl isn't back 'til April 18. First off mid-exam time, not ideal, secondly I won't even get to see the season finale until I'm back from Costa Rica. Keep your lips zipped people! So how do you feel about the sparks between Dan and Blair, or are you all loyal Chuck/Blair lovers? What are your thoughts?

Get Me to Costa Rica!

My ticket to Costa Rica is officially booked! As many of you may or may not know I'm traveling with Youth Challenge International to volunteer for 8 weeks. Leaving May 16 and back August 2, I'm planning on spending my last 3 and a half weeks there hosteling around, surfing, and I guess just having adventures galore! If anyone has any favorite spots, things to do, places to see in CR definitely let me know and I will try to check them out. One of the things I'm most excited for so far is the sloth sanctuary not too far from Puerto Viejo.
Can't wait!

Oscar Night

Tonight is Oscar night and I know many of you will be watching. I'm most excited to see the gowns that are going to grace the red carpet! My top picks for best dressed are:

1. Mila Kunis- Love her style.

2. January Jones- She always surprises me in something stunning.

3. Anne Hathaway- I know she's hosting, but she will probably have quite a few fabulous outfits lined up.

Can't wait to sit, snack on some popcorn with grated parmesan (YUM!) and hang out with the girls. Who are your top picks, and any fun plans?

Weekend's Here!

Weoooo, the weekend is finally upon us! This week seemed to be never ending. February is almost over thank goodness as March has so many things to look forward to! First off midterm season is over, the weather is starting to get gorgeous and my friends are coming to visit! One of my best friends, Claire, is coming up for 5 days and it's going to be great! She'll get to experience Pit night, which I have to say is always a fun time, and we get to see our friends from Everett play the Giants! Anyways friends here's whats currently on repeat at my place.

Hello- Martin Solveig & Dragonette (Dada Life Remix)
Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise- The Avett Brothers
Never Gonna Leave This Bed- Maroon 5
Rolling in the Deep- Adele
Sweater Song- Hedley
E.T.- Katy Perry & Kanye
Superbass- Nicki Minaj
Green Eyes- Coldplay

I know, I know, such an odd mixture. BUT I also want to let you know about 8tracks. Its a website with any playlist you can imagine. Lately I've been feeling the really mellow tunes so I can't stop playing This Playlist. Totally phenomenal. Have a great weekend!

PS! Going to the Sweet Thing concert tonight. Check em out if you get the chance. You won't be disappointed, and they are amazing live. Listen to 'Over Me', 'We're On Fire Tonight' and 'Lazy Susan'.

Can't Live Without

I should be doing something other than this, probably homework seeing as I've got hours of it looming. Instead I'd rather tell you about a few items, that lately, I couldn't live without.

RoC Enydrial Lip Care- This plain little white tube is a miracle worker. I've always had a tough time finding a chapstick or lip balm that is not only hypoallergenic, but leaves my lips smooth, not sticky, and didn't require constant application. If that sounds like what you're looking for, look no further. Thanks to cosmetician Katelyn I've stopped the search. This RoC balm only needs to be re-applied a few times a day and leaves your lips plump and smooth. It's also colorless, odorless, and best of all your hair never gets stuck to your lips! Try it out. You can find it at Shoppers for $7.50.

Kevin Murphy Fresh Hair Dry Shampoo- This little baby is a lifesaver. We all have those days where there's no time to wash your hair, but you know you should. Well that's where Kevin Murphy's dry shampoo comes in. Its lightweight, not sticky, doesn't leave a nasty residue behind and actually smells decent, unlike most dry shampoos I've tried. It leaves your hair feeling and looking fresh. Even cooler is the fact that for every can sold, a contribution is made towards helping to reduce global carbon emissions. So stock up!

Rimmel Max Volume Flash Mascara- I can admit it. I used to be a HUGE mascara snob. The only mascaras I would use were DiorShow, Benefit BadGal, Clinique, etc. They were fabulous, don't get me wrong, but they were also draining on my bank account. I've probably used every mascara known to mankind searching for a new favorite, and I think I may have found it. Rimmel's little pink tube gives you fantastic length, tons of volume, doesn't clump and hey, its easy on your wallet at under $10.

Obsessions

I seem to have this issue where I'll post a bunch in a row in a short span of time, and then stop. So sporadic. My resolution is to start being more consistent, guess we'll see where that gets me! Anyways here are a few of my late night thoughts/obsessions/cravings I thought I'd share with you all.

1. Books. I don't read enough (that is if you don't count textbooks), and I'd love to get back to the way I used to be, devouring books like there was nothing to it. Oh how university gets the best of you. How unreal do these libraries look? When I finally get a place of my own, you can count on something like this to be implemented.

2. Good Sleep. We all know we don't get enough of it. And NO, sleeping in on weekends with a massive hangover does not count, although I wish it did. Catch up with catnaps here and there. If this baby was nestled in my place I'd be the most well rested person on Earth.

3. Rolling in the Deep- Adele. It's a killer song, and I know I must be watching too many movies because I feel so bad ass when I listen to it. I know its lame but seriously, go see I Am Number 4, and you'll totally get where I'm coming from.

4. Lifesaver. This looks SO useful, hook me up! So many things to charge, so little time.

Updates

Sorry it's been a while friends, but my good friend Katelyn (check out her blog), has been visiting me and we have gotten up to a ton of activities. The weather has been beautiful and sunny and warm and I really thought spring was upon us, until today...SNOW. Sure it was only for an hour or so, and more slushy than anything...but still, snow? No thanks. I guess it prepares Katelyn to head back home to snowy Edmonton.

Anyways, this weekend we went to check out I Am Number 4, starring Dianna Agron and Alex Pettyfer. It was surprisingly good even though it was about aliens...and romance...odd combo really. I'd highly recommend it though, even if its just to check out Alex's bod. It's smokin', and I mean who doesn't love some gorgeous eye candy?

Hope you all had a good Monday, I know its tough. And for those of you just starting your reading week, live it up!

Need. Want. Love.

These Alexis Bittar gold knot earrings. To die for. Not too over the top, but elegant, refined and glamourous at the same time.

This outfit. Perfect for the ever changing Vancouver weather with numerous layers. The leather gloves are such a sweet little touch. Plus how cute is it?

Brick Walls and Chandeliers. I've been obsessing over antique chandeliers lately and the look of unrefined brick walls inside homes. This shot shows the two combined which I've completely fallen for. The simple elegance of the stark white sheets just adds a finishing touch.

Simple Meals. As a full time student, with a part time job I know I don't have a lot of time on my hands. As a comfort food lover there's nothing better than a gooey grilled cheese and tomato soup. To spice it up maybe try a couple different cheeses like Balderson, or Brie, and mix a few fresh basil leaves into the soup.

I am on the hunt for a little white dress to wear with my camel blazer that I recently bought at H&M. Any suggestions?

Messy, unkempt, yet perfectly styled hair. Nothing looks better. So roll out of bed, skip the shower and style away!

Snack Time

I am constantly craving food, some days it seems like I might be a bottomless pit. Here's a healthy snack for all you lovely readers to try out!

Apple Sandwiches
-core your apples first, proceed to slice
-slather on some peanut butter (or nutella, which i personally prefer)
-sandwich in some granola, banana slices, chocolate chips, or sliced almonds if you wish
{image via beccacc.tumblr}

And there you have it; a healthy snack that not only tastes good, I think it looks kind of cool and you can feel great about eating this any time!

Homemade Dinner

Last night Claire made Erica and I a delicious home cooked meal. Our 3 course meal of garlic bread, caesar salad (with Erica's homemade vinaigrette) and lasagna was to die for, add on a couple bottles of wine and it was totally complete.

Next up was TOBLERONE FONDUE. All I can say is that you have to try this. Sorry for the lack of pictures, but I was too busy indulging to remember to snap many. All you need is a few bars of Toblerone, a touch of water so its not super thick and voila! You have a picture perfect dessert.

We ended the night while watching the Grammy's, and listening to a 90's music compilation that was utterly phenomenal.
xoxo

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day lovers and friends! Whether you have a valentine or not, enjoy today with your friends, family and loved ones, I know I will.

Latest Loves

The week from hell is drawing to a close, and with calculus being cancelled tomorrow I couldn't be a happier girl! Reading week is almost upon us here at UBC, in the most literal sense of the word. I for one have a TON of reading to catch up on. Yuck. Here are a few things that I've been hooked on lately.

1. David's Tea in Lavender Zen. You neeeeeeed to try this, I'm a huge fan of the lavender tea; it helps with headaches, and makes me nice and sleepy, plus it tastes absolutely delightful!

2. Hats. I bought the cutest little fedora, that wasn't really a fedora, kind of like the one below actually, today at Urban Outfitters. I love the style of this Eugenia Kim hat that Hilary Duff is repping.

3. Vampire Diaries. Don't deny it I know you watch it and love it. If you don't watch it, you should because you'll love it. The suspense, the sexiness, the storylines. It's just phenomenal.  So take my word and get watching, you can thank me later. PS: the ads "Got Wood?", and "Catch VD", now that's ballsy.

4. Chunky Gold Jewelry. I've had my Michael Kors watch since the summer and I'm still addicted to it.

5. Alana and I have lately been on a secret wedding binge. I am addicted to 'Say Yes to the Dress' on TLC, and have been perusing Ruffled Blog. It is ADORABLE. Take a peek at this beautiful Birks engagement ring!

6. Valentine's Day, or a Valentine's Vendetta, whichever your heart desires, is right around the bend. I know I'll be spending it with the girls, and I think that this brownie/cake dessert which I found on Daily Crush is just calling my name. Here's the recipe!

Have a great weekend! <3

xoxo

You all get it.

Mila Kunis

Lately I've been obsessed with Mila Kunis. First off she's funny as hell, knows what's up, and I'm in love with her day-to-day style to boot including her inspirational hair and make-up. Not to mention the killer dresses she's been rocking on the red carpet as of late, so I for one can't wait to see what she whips out at the Oscars! Thirdly I'm anxiously awaiting "Friends with Benefits", also starring JT, to come out. Girls night anyone?

I love, love, love how she dresses comfortably, casually and super cute. As a jeans and a sweater kind of girl myself, I find her looks very fun, easy and totally wearable, whether it be to school, work, or going out and about.

The Little Things

Found a new blog today. Made me smile after one of the longest days in a while. Head on over and I'm positive it will put you in a great mood. Having breakfast for dinner is one of my personal favorites... I mean how could you not want a huge plate of Eggs Benny?
